Church Counseling Ministry
Purpose/Mission: Counseling services are provided free to CHBC members. Individual and family counseling are available. Many areas are covered with clients depending upon the issues concerning the client. For example: behavior problems, low self-esteem, grief, marriage issues, financial issues, anger
management, depression or being unhappy.
Scripture: O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 136:1
Purpose/Mission: The Courtesy Committee is a group of men and women that love to welcome our guests to share the power of God with the Carver Heights Baptist Church Family - Come One Come All!
Scripture: A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24
Purpose/Mission: The Greeters Ministry represents the Pastor and the Church. This ministry is the vehicle through which the church board and congregation can provide to visitors and to its members a personal expression of Christian warmth and welcome. Greeters are the first people members and visitors will meet when arriving at church. Individuals who are part of the Greeters Ministry are face to face, hand to hand, and heart to heart with the people they are called to serve.

Purpose/Mission: To provide tape/DVD recordings of each Sunday’s 10:45am service for the Sick-&-Shut-in Committee as well as any church member who may request a copy.
- To provide the best quality recording each week of the Sunday service and any other special services.
- To make sure that the equipment is used correctly and copies of tapes/DVDs are made.
- To train others how to use equipment correctly.

Sr. Usher Board Ministry
Purpose/Mission: The Usher board is to serve the Lord Jesus through providing faithful services to the church by our presence and dedication in helping our Pastor, members and all guest feel comfortable as possible during the various services at the church.
Scripture: For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10
Purpose/Mission: The Pastor's Aide stands ready to help/assist the Pastor in whatever capacity deems necessary to enhance his Pastoral duties/service for the Lord.
Scripture: Jer 13:15, Eph.4:11-15, Rom. 10:14-15 and 1 Tim. 5:18
Cancer Survirors & Care Ministry
Purpose/Mission: To serve the needs of people that has been diagnosis with cancer and undergoing radiations and chemotherapy.
- To aid those who are emotionally in need of counseling
- To supply material for a better understanding and coping with skills with their treatment and disease
- Hotline will be available for the family in a prayer positive environment for the person with the disease
- To support spiritually thought prayer and faith in prayer. Remember the treatment will end and the rest of your life will begin.
Scripture: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Purpose/Mission: Our ministry supports the general work of the church by being involved in other ministries. We strive to promote unity in our own Christian Sisterhood and throughout the church family. We seek to comfort church members in times of bereavement. We assist the pastor, associate ministers, and deacons in administering the two Baptist ordinances--Communion and Baptism.
Scripture: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law, And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:22-26
